SUBJECT: “BLACK HISTORY IS IN THE BIBLE”

Writer's picture: Minister Dr. Sharon WatsonMinister Dr. Sharon Watson

“Are you Israelites more important to me than the Ethiopians? ” asks the Lord. “I brought Israel out of Egypt, but I also brought the Philistines from Crete and led the Arameans out of Kir. -Amos 9:7 NLT

The most read multicultural book is the Holy Bible. This might be hard to believe because Hollywood and Artists portray Bible characters to all look European. I wonder, could their European depiction of all the Bible characters be classified as racist? I am not sure. But I am convinced, based on documented locations, that some Black people shaped the history in the Bible.

Ignoring Biblical maps that identify locations associated with where “Dark Skinned” people originated points to the reason that European and Caucasian Bible translators make it seem that the Bible is not multicultural. Knowing the black presence in the Bible is very important because it shows GOD’s Agape Love to all races of people during that time. For us to exercise in the times we live in. GOD was not and is not a racist. That is why the Bible is a multicultural book.

For the majority of Caucasians, it is difficult for them to see black presence in the Bible because it requires detailed studying and acceptance. Ethiopia is mentioned 45 times in the Bible, plus the number of times Egypt is mentioned, then add Africa and all of its landmarks mentioned in the Bible. Black presence is present in the Bible. To make a long research article short, “Blacks History is in the Bible.”

Remember:

The Middle East and the Holy Land were connected to “Africa” until 1859. After the Suez Canal was completed, Northeast Africa was referred to in modern history.

Prayer:

Thank you for the knowledge of reading being educational. Thank you for Blacks in America being able to read and study their Bible and learn that You included Blacks and used Blacks in the shaping of your Holy History book. Amen in JESUS’ name. -In JESUS's Matchless Name, Amen.

Food For Thought:

“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” -Micah 6:8.
